Health from Your Own Blood: P-SHOT

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), commonly known as P-Shot therapy, is a treatment used for erectile dysfunction that is especially widespread in the United States. The logic of this treatment is to separate the healing factors found in the blood and deliver them in concentrated form into the penile tissues.

The most frequently asked question is whether the procedure is painful. Before injection into the penile tissue, the penis is numbed with a special spray and very little pain is felt. Drawing and preparing the blood takes about 30 minutes; delivering the prepared mixture into the penis takes 5 seconds.

PRP for the penis, or P-Shot, is recommended for 2 to 4 sessions. Rather than using it alone, combining it with SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (ESWT) increases its effectiveness. Shockwave therapy creates a reaction in the penile tissue, and the aim is to heal and regenerate the tissue with the growth factors delivered by P-Shot therapy. The prepared mixture contains platelets and factors such as VEGF that cause new vessel formation. In this way new vessels begin to form within 1 month and a better-quality erection can be achieved.

Does the procedure have side effects?

PRP therapy for the penis has no side effects because it is prepared from your own blood. It can be performed once every 6 months.

For a healthy sex life the penile tissue must also be healthy. For this it may be necessary to have a check-up once a year and, if needed, to request a P-Shot application.
